The Working Group Tours
The Working Group Tours are a series of sessions hosted by the PRME UK and Ireland network, between October 2024 and March 2025 to engage with the PRME Global Working Groups.
“PRME Working Groups deepen collaboration in and across institutions on specific issues relevant to corporate sustainability and responsibility and related to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. PRME Working Groups develop and publish resources relevant to increasing awareness around responsible management education and other thematic topics for business”.
Each session introduces the Working Group Lead, how to get involved and feature teaching and research by Working Group members from the UK and Ireland network. These sessions were recorded with the relevant links to recording and slides all available below.

SUSTAINABILITY MINDSET (November 2024).

Hosted by Dr Isabel Rimanoczy, Working Group Founder and Lead. Isabel plotted the development of the Sustainability Mindset Principles from awareness of her own mindset, which triggered her research into business leaders to understand more about why they were doing things for the 'greater good' that were not asked of them and if these behaviours were something that could be intentionally developed in others. She illustrated the transformation that can arise from a shifted perspective. Today, this working group has over 300 members and in over 50 countries, spanning education, research and business leader coaching.
Two members of the UKI community illustrated how they have used the Sustainability Mindset. Dr Barbara Tomasella from the University of Derby (Senior Lecturer in Marketing) introduced the Enterprise Educators UK Funded Project 'Developing an Entrepreneurship Education Toolkit based on Sustainability Mindset Principles', which currently has an open call for anyone like to engage in trialing materials (see the slides for a link). Dr Orla Kelleher from the University of Derby (Senior Lecturer in Leadership and Strategy) presented one of the modules she has shared with this project, that talks deeply to the principle area of 'Spiritual Intelligence'. It was great to see the session sparking new connections and thoughts across differing disciplinary areas.

BUSINESS FOR PEACE (December 2024).

Hosted by Working Group Lead, Dr John Katsos (Professor of Management, Entrepreneurship and Strategy at the American University of Sharjah (UAE), John outlined the group's research, teaching and learning and organisational engagement streams. His discussion showed the interaction between business and peace across domains of employees, operations, communities, markets and institutional life. Working Group member Dr Daryna Dvornichenko, Visiting Research Fellow at the University of Oxford, presented her research findings on 'Business for Peace: How profit-oriented and social enterprises cope with the war reality'. Daryna's compelling presentation of the daily challenges facing business owners and entrepreneurs across Ukraine gave actionable recommendations for what businesses can do to support peace. Her presentation is highly recommended for a compelling, albeit alarming, insight into extreme entrepreneurial challenges in the face of conflict, where somehow business goes on, thanks to the innovative and resourceful responses of business owners and employees.
