The 3rd UK & Ireland PRME Conference was held at Nottingham 20th-21st June 2016

The 3rd Annual PRME UK & Ireland conference was hosted this year as a collaboration between two Universities (University of Nottingham and Nottingham Trent University) and also two related networks (PRME and European Business Ethics Network EBEN).

These collaborations offered the opportunity to attract a significant number of delegates (120 for the 2 conferences) and a considerable international presence (12 nationalities). There were thought provoking contributions from Senior Academic, Ed Freeman and Head of PRME Secretariat, Jonas Haertle and a range of paper presentations and workshops.

The conference was opened by Robin Hood, who hopefully awakened the urge for social justice, equality, and the love of the forest in our assembly. Topics of paper discussions included curriculum design, student engagement, and leadership development. Workshops also proved popular this year with a focus on take away tools. The recent strategic review of PRME and the alignment of PRME with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) were also discussed. The theme of the conference was collaboration and build capacity in responsible management education and these aims were facilitated in the time together and with many offers of collaboration across the PRME participants going forward.

The Chapter AGM was held during the conference and suggestions made for forums to promote Faculty Development, a student competition and opportunities to engage more businesses and students in future years. Thanks were extended to Greenleaf Publishing for their continued support for Chapter activities.

Finally, the Nottingham team from both Business Schools, headed up by Mollie Painter-Morland, Paul Caulfield and Petra Molthan-Hill did a splendid job of hosting the conference and invitations for proposals to host the 2017 conference will be sent out in September 2016.
